Tenshu is a worker-run technology consultancy for small businesses and the people building things for their communities. We help make the technology around your work more useful, reliable, and understandable.
You might need something built, something fixed, or someone to think through a decision with you. You don't need to know which tool to ask for before getting in touch.
Websites, apps, automation, and everyday systems. Build or improve a website, booking flow, customer tool, or the connections between the systems you already use. Cut out the repeated copying, checking, and chasing that software was supposed to handle.
Security and reliability. Review how your accounts and systems are protected, address problems, and put appropriate monitoring and support around the things your business depends on. Security belongs in the work from the start.
Decisions about technology and spending. Work through a vendor proposal, a renewal, a collection of overlapping subscriptions, or a question about what to build next. Sometimes the useful answer is a new tool. Sometimes it's keeping what works, simplifying the setup, or not buying anything.
We start with your situation: what's happening, who it affects, and what a useful result would look like. From there, we agree on the work, the cost, and how we'll know it's done. If that changes, we talk about it before changing the agreement.
During a project, you get regular written updates and chances to see and respond to the work. You talk with the people doing it, not someone relaying messages between you and them.
We explain the decisions, document what matters, and walk you through what we've made. Ongoing help is available when it makes sense, but understanding your own systems shouldn't depend on keeping us on retainer.
We'll work out the right shape together. A conversation isn't a commitment to a project, and a project doesn't have to become an ongoing arrangement.
We use DFOS for project conversations, updates, useful documents, and scheduled gatherings. Public notes are a way to share work and what we're learning; client work has its own agreed audience.
If you knew us through for the village, you're in the right place. This is Tenshu's home for explaining the work and working together.
Send us a note with a little about your business, what's getting in the way, and whether there's a date we should know about. Bring the proposal, the renewal email, or the thing that keeps breaking. It's fine if you're still figuring out what to ask.
We'll work out whether a conversation is the right next step. You don't need to join this space to get in touch.
